The water tower at Oude Breezanddijk, on the westbank of the Kil [Hoekse Waard], from where Dutch artillery observers had been assisting their batteries. At the 13th a battery of the 9.PD was called forward and pounded quite a number of volleys into the construction. The tower still exists today as a silent witness of the events of May 1940 ...
