The blown up viaduct at Rhenen - may 1940

Right of the remains of the viaduct one can identify a light machine gun position. Also, it's easy to recognize the low level railway line.

When the Germans had broken through the stopline, advance westwards was soon halted again by troops defending these slopes. The Germans would only manage to cross this barrier after the Dutch had evacuated the Grebbeline.
