The remainders of the pavilion that served as CP for the Battalion Commander of I-8RI. Here Major Landzaat and a few of his men fought the men of the German 322.IR in the afternoon of May 13. The Major had already decided before the German invasion had become a fact, that his orders to hold en defend the Grebbeberg would be executed by him without giving an inch of ground. He had informed his wife of this morbide determination of his. The Major kept his word, and when the walls of the small building started crumbling under German gunfire, the Major thanked and dismissed his men. He was last seen bashing out of the door with two blazing pistols in his hands.

The remains of the killed Major were later found and identified by his wife; a few days after the capitulation.
