Artist impression of the Dutch ground support raids at the Grebbeberg - may 1940

Artist impression of the Dutch ground support raids against the Germans at the Grebbeberg, 13 May 1940. The picture shows two Fokker C-X light bombers [carrying 8 bombs of 50 kg]. In fact four [escorted] C-X's flew this particular mission against German artillery positions at Wageningen. They would return home safely after the had dropped their ordenance.

These planes - although far from modern - achieved quite some successes during the May War against the enemy. Hardly any C-X's were lost during missions.
