The bridges nearby Nijmegen - may 1940

The Germans reached many bridges too late to save them. The bridges near Nijmegen crossing the Maas-Waalcanal were destroyed in time. The destruction of the bridges near Nijmegen and Neerbosch intervened with German plans to have a train penetrate the Maas-Waalcanal line and ride on towards the Maas (Meuze) river to get behind the Peel-Raamline.
