The Peel-Raamline - may 1940

Unique picture of the Peel-Raamline. In the left-centre of the picture a cast-iron heavy machinegun turret, by far the best field casemate type the Dutch had. Further in the background two consecutive 'porcupine' type casemates for a light machinegun. The narrow tank-ditch annex canal is quite well screened with dense barbed wire obstacles. It wasn't all like that. This picture was taken by German troops on the 11th or 12th of May. The exact location is unknown, but most likely it was taken somewhere in the centre of the line.
