Townhall of Middelburg - may 1940
Picture of the late-Gothic style townhall of Middelburg, which was built in 1452. The townhall had been seriously damaged by the German aerial and artillery bombardments during the 15-18 may 1940 siege, but fortunately this precious ancient building was fully restored after the war, thanks to the casco walls that had been saved from devastation.
